Real. Voyager’s path, its flybys and the planets’ positions come from NASA/JPL. So do the positions of the big moons during the flybys. Distances, sizes, tilts and spin speeds are true.
Live. Which NASA antenna is working with Voyager comes straight from NASA’s feed, every 30 seconds. Today’s distance is JPL’s calculated path, not a fresh measurement. The science data itself is not live.
Sped up. Time runs fast, and slows down near each planet. The date is always shown. When time runs very fast, planets slow their spin on screen so it doesn’t flicker.
Drawn to look right, not measured. The moons’ surfaces, Earth’s clouds, the Sun’s surface and the clumps in Saturn’s rings. The asteroids and the outer belt follow the real pattern, but the rocks themselves are made up, and so are the spots of the faintest stars.
Added so you can see it. Voyager is drawn far larger than life, and in a few shots it is turned for a better view. The blue rings stand for its radio signal, and the specks flying past show the speed. In real space you would see none of these.
